LA 68 is a great place to escape, and have a quiet lunch, grab a drink, shop watch a movie or browse the library. it is only about 8 blocks from the main plaza, has very good food(pizza and sandwiches), a full bar, a movie theater and a nice shop. the service is good, and it is cool and peaceful,... A really cool little spot in Merida. The shop was great with really interesting and nice things - not just the same old tourist stuff you get everywhere. The staff were really friendly and the courtyard cafe was lovely.

We only stopped in to check out the space and have a few refreshments but twice a week, they have films and dinners for a very reasonable price with outdoor and indoor screening rooms. Seemed like a perfect place to make friends for those looking for travel buddies or just someone to meet in a busy city. Was really impressed... More

Casa de Cultura is a must stop on your itinerary. It offers yoga classes, work shops, streams movies, has a great little restaurant and gift shop. Oh and don't miss the House and Garden Tour. It's an amazing place to meet people. Paula, the owner has done an excellent job in creating this little cultural oasis. She has great knowledge... More

We stopped by LA68 to check it out. We had a couple of beers and some of the best gazpacho I have ever had. The open air space was really quiet and filled with beautiful plants. Vane was a great waitress and the owner was very nice. The shops have a great selection of items, most of which I did... More

This place is fantastic!! We went to a movie there, saw an early showing at 5pm so we were at the indoor screen and had the place to ourselves. I watched the movie while lying in a hammock and eating a hearty and tasty meal provided by the little restaurant there. Fantastic movie going experience. The gifts store had some... More

We had lunch here...no films but some unusual folk art. Delicious gespacho and a diverse selection of quesadillas, but the pizza today was ho-hum at best. Service was friendly, although a bit haphazard.

I am also a non-smoker, but to be fair to LA68, the movies are held in the open air courtyard garden, so I have never found smokers to be a problem there. They have the Best Pizza, too! The seats are not the most comfortable but overall the films, food, beer and ambience make it a worthwhile place.

LA68 is really a great place that shows great foreign films on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. There is also art to see. The seats in the theatre area are not too comfortable but worst of all, they allow people to smoke. The seats probably would not seem so uncomfortable if cigarette smoke was not blowing into my face all... More
