Anniversary trip with the wife to Andaz Mayakoba, plus this destination was on her "bucket list" so that made everything that much sweeter... Wonderful beach, weather was in the mid 80's, great for us coming from NYC... We will be returning soon...

The beach area is lovely but it is filled with large, resort hotels and tons of people. On a calm and sunny day it was incredibly crowded. We stayed a while and loved walking on the wet sand right at the water admiring the scenery...More

Good deals to be found, but there are a lot of very pushy 'hawkers' who try everything to get you into their stores, it actually gets unpleasant.

I found 5th Avenue a bit overwhelming. I like to shop off the beaten path a bit. I found a wonderful textile artist studio El Jaguar Dorado on Calle 8 Nte (between 10th and 11th Ave) that had beautiful, handmade textile gifts.

Fantastic and very safe area in Mexico. I've stayed in Cabo and Cancun, this by far is the best! Amazing beaches and great downtown.

Thank Matthew J

This place seems to be more for people wanting to relax, not so much party, party, party! I noticed more couples than groups of younger people. Hope this answer helps!

We stayed at the Barcelo resort and they have a dolphin aquarium at the resort. That might be a easy way to have a dolphin encounter. I would highly recommend the resort too!!

Bring them to Xcaret. It is a beautiful place very catering to kids. They have many animals there including dolphins. The new kids area will be great for your kids too.
