This store has been referred to as an "art gallery" and "not just a special shopping experience but a learning experience as well" due to the fact that you will always find Citlali at the store giving detailed explainations about the origens, representaions and unique techniques used in the making of the finer handcrafts of all parts of Mexico. With more then 30 yrs. experience searching for the handcrafts and selecting the pieces for how they represent the people, the culture and the history of Mexico at it's best. There are photos throughout the store where you can meet the artiist while he or she is creating the particular item you are admiring. You will not find "Playa del Carmen" or "Riviera Maya" written on any of the handcrafts as we do not deal in souvenirs.

I wonder if everything in the shop is actually made in Mexico? I only asked about the things I actually cared about purchasing. Just be careful, as many things are mass-produced, even in-country. Nevertheless, you can find some nice souvenir items here and the people are SO nice that work here.

My girlfriend also got her hair braided while we were in this area at a neat tienda that had really nice & sexy beach coverups.... More

I came out wondering how so many shops that sell the same thing could survive. Most of the items being sold are great quality. I always buy some kind of jewelry. Be aware, if what you want is not at a particular store, it will be at hundreds more.

We fell into this place by accident and had to return, the examples of their handicraft and the selection is unreal, we thought we had spent a fortune but we seriously didn't.

The Mexican culture is rich with talent, creative artisans, music, food, literary geniuses and so much more! Strolling down this avenue you will find something for everyone in your budget. The more you buy from 1 vendor the better buy it is for you. A few places will identify that prices are set. I love the colors of the textiles... More
