Great beaches (that allow dogs - unlike Playa del Carmen or Cancun), lots of tasty, authentic mexican food at a good price, and affordable hotels!

Lost count of the number of times we have been to Boca Paila lagoon and beach, its simply heaven on earth! Great fly and spin fishing and you can cool off in the ocean. No sunbeds, shops toilets so go prepared, Its a shame the locals dont take their litter home with them! I will let my photos paint a picture.

Boca Paila, o Playa El Encanto, as called by many locals is one of the best hidden treasures in the area. The water is warm, mild waves, little fish swimming by.
You only need a towel, choose a spot, and you are all set. If you want to be a little more comfortable, try one of the beach clubs nearby. They offer cold beverages, snacks, lounge chairs, beds, showers and restrooms for a small fee.
A short five-min drive from Tulum.

Get away from the crowds, travel through the beach area of Tulum (gorgeous beaches) and arrive at wild undeveloped beaches. This is what the Riviera Maya looked like 20 years ago.

Shows all the hotels along Tulum's beach road (Boca Paila) from where the road forks at the coast right up to the Biosphere reserve (about 7 km in total).
Includes hotel names and an odometer showing where they are.
Species variety is the attribute that best defines the saltwater flats fishing on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Boca Paila Lodge embodies this diversity perhaps better than any other lodge in the region. They have been catering to Frontiers' clients for over 30 years. Many anglers have returned time after time for its warm ambience and prolific bonefish and permit.
Family owned and operated, Boca Paila is blessed with an idyllic tropical location. The lodge complex sits on a narrow stretch of land, with the Caribbean surf less than 50 yards to the east, and the expansive flats and lagoons 100 yards to the west. A quintessential white sand beach unfolds for a mile north and south, where guests can walk and never see another tourist -- let alone another hotel. As the lodge is in the middle of Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, there are no high-rise hotels within ten miles of this site.

Untouched beaches, with a lot of hidden corners for adventure and discovery. You don´t want to miss this place.

Is the construction still going on across the street. Some reviews noted the concrete dust and terrible noise.
