Our guide narrates some of the history of Ribchester and describes the weavers cottages and the history of the church. While waiting for the museum to open we walk around... More

Gives an impression of just how quiet our lives must have been in the past. Stood still for a few moments and could not hear a sound.

So much to see in Ribchester in the Ribble Valley, the River Ribble runs through the village, old churches, interesting graveyards with historic information, Alms houses, Roman Museum, Bath house, and Granary. Lovely school, very good restaurants in and in surrounding area, pubs, working men's club. Several businesses now established in units in the old weaving mill. A newly setup... More

A very confusing page as the pictures and map refer to St Wilfrid's Ribchester whilst most of the comment to St Wilfrid's Preston, two totally different churches of course.

The church itself is very old and is in the centre of Preston. .Stepping inside from the busy main street was like walking into another world of peace and serenity I am not a regular churchgoer, but I loved the mass and choir and ambience,, very uplifting and I promised myself I would go again..

Great Historical Church in the middle of Preston. A hidden gem when found by the people who want to be there.

Ribchester is an old roman village. The church is a must. It is awe inspiring looking at the gravestones of the young that died in the plague. Anyone with any interest in history should visit.

We love the town of Ribchester it is full of history, pretty and quaint. As we made our way down to the church several people were having picnics on the banks of the river on a lovely sunny day. The church is in a lovely picturesque spot, near to the museum, it is open to visitors. There are small prayer... More
