The Parroquia itself is just okay but it's all the activity that goes around it that is fun. When we were there in November, there always seemed to be a mariachi band or two. We also saw breakdancing, and a full on concert was going on there one night. We also bought some hats in the are in front of... More

It is a beautiful place that you should see it. it is in front of "El Jardin Plaza" (main Plaza in town). Go inside and enjoy the gorgeous details from 1500's. and then go to the main plaza sit down in one of the bench and check the sundown and if you wait a little bit longer you can enjoy... More

The Parroquia is probably the most visited landmark in San Miguel de Allende. Its looming pink presence, a Gothic hodgepodge in architecture, has to be experienced first hand. It is one of the highest structures in the town and helps visitors to place themselves relative to the rest of Centro. It is especially beautiful at sunset. The interior is as... More

One of the most popular things to do is just sit on a bench facing the church, enjoy the view, watch the world go by. What I can't figure out is why people would be so enthralled that they'd buy an incredibly overpriced home to live here. The view is nice but there are far better ones in Mexico

This (actually not ancient, but very beautiful) little chuch is the central feature of one of the most charming public spaces anywhere.

A supreme place to pray, full of details and for some, a piece of art. See the Capilla del Santísimo, a small room with the image of Jesus for a more private pray

Somehow, someone had the not so brilliant idea of painting fake rocks/bricks inside this beautiful structure. It looks so out of place there. Keeping it natural would have been much better. It would also be nice if they fixed the bells, they sound terrible, probably cracked. Otherwise it is a beautiful building worth a walk downtown if you are already... More
