We found this a bit hap-hazardly as people weren't sure on the days a market was being held. But Easter Sunday was a surprise. There were a wide selection of artisans and sellers dispaying a wide variety of items. Jewlery, rugs, art, fossils, pottery, etc. Very colorful and fun.

I took a three day basketweaving class at the end of my stay in San Miguel. I knew nothing about making baskets prior to this class; by the end I was able to make different shape baskets and learned how to crochet onto a basket. This class taught me a fun skill that I never would have learned otherwise. The... More

I went there for lunch at the cafe, but there were lovely galleries. Also in the atrium they were setting up for a wedding with thousands of flowers.

There is a little shop -yam gallery- with beautiful jewelry. The cafe in the courtyard is quiet, reasonably priced and excellently!

To understand the contemporary history of San Miguel you should understand the importance of this institute and the role of the American GI. San Miguel is a wonderful and beautiful city and may well have become what it is today without Sterling Dickerson but that was not the course of history. A trip to the institute should be on your... The "legendary" fiesta of the literary conference was held here. A great location with beautiful interior architecture and plenty of room.

This is a art institute and cultural center with a furniture store and art displays. The furniture store had some amazing items that made me wish I owned a bigger home. The center also had some nice gardens that serve as a place for weddings and events.
