We were all over 65 in our group and while we galloped over rough ground (if we chose to) and made our way up and down steep trails, we always felt safe and well cared for. Six riders in our group and five experienced, watchful caballeros. Stunning views. Friendly people. Responsive horses. Great lunch back at the ranch house.

Amazing experience! You get collected from where you are staying and they take you to the ranch. The ranch is family owned and pretty much everyone you meet there is part of the same family. You get a horse and then proceed to ride for the next few hours through incredible landscape. At the end, you get a home prepared... More

My day at Rancho Xotolar absolutely exceeded my expectations and then some. I've had the privilege of riding in many special places over the years, but the experience here really brought things to the next level. The scenery was magnificent, and the ride covered an impressive expanse of terrain. That in and of itself would have been sufficient for a... More

My girlfriend and I rode horses at Rancho Xotolar. It was the best experience we've had in our four visits to San Miguel! When we arrived, we saw Gustavo milking the cows which would later be used to make the cheese that would be served with lunch. Then we started riding through the stunningly gorgeous landscape of their ranch. We... More

We had a great day riding in a beautiful and very interesting landscape. The guides are a lot of fun and make sure that everyone is comfortable and happy. The lunch was equally good, all traditional Mexican food. All of us, two adults and two children aged 11 and 13, had a great time, we have horses at home so... More

Tomas and his family are genuine, kind, and hospitable. We had a beautiful and safe half day ride with a delicious ranch lunch. All of the guides make sure to explain safety and went above and beyond to find my lost sunglasses in the river! I recommend this tour to anyone--well worth the price.

if you are looking for an adventure, contact Ranchi Xotolar! We did the 1/2 day horse back riding tour through the canyons and it was breathtaking. The ranch is family owned and run. The horses were well behaved and there were plenty of guides to help us along on the tour safely. Another highlight was eating a delicious fresh lunch... More

Tomas and his family go out of their way to have an authentic tour of their father's Rancho purchased in the 1940's. From how they live, make fresh cheese, to dividing the chores, before you even get on the horses you have a good idea of the ranch history as well as the compatability of the family members. The ride... More

What a wonderful day to spend a day in the country outside of San Miguel de Allende! The family who runs Rancho Xotolar was so friendly and provided a marvelous experience for my family. The whole family was friendly and welcoming of our group, giving us a tour of the ranch, showing us the process they use to make cheese... More
