Fun activity in Cabo

Our entire family took the tamale making class from Donna. She's a wealth of information about Mexico and its' culture. Plus, we learned how to make tamales!

Thank you Donna for our second cooking class! We did a class a couple of years ago and certainly looked forward to our time with you again. You didn't disappoint. Holy Mole'. It was so fun unraveling the mystery of this food. Well done. We even got our mole' home through customs so now we can use it for our... More

Donna is a hoot! She provides a 4-5 hour cooking class on different topics of authentic Mexican cuisine primarily from the southwestern part of the mainland Mexico. History of the people and the food is part of the class with explanation of how the food has evolved over time. This is a hands on class where you make the dish... More

You know you enjoyed a cooking class when the first day you get home from your trip, you run to the grocery store to make the recipe you just learned! Donna was super easy to deal with setting up the lesson and was always very responsive by email. She made the meet up easy at a big mall so we... More

If you get a chance to take Donna's 'Breakfast in Mexico' class, do it without hesitation, I took the bus from San Jose del Cabo direct to our arranged meeting place at the far end of Cabo for a couple of bucks. Donna then drove me to her spectacular house where we met up with others in the class. Don't... More

We took the Mexican Basics class with Donna and it was a trip highlight! Donna is a delightful, excellent cook and passionate foodie and so incredibly knowledgeable about authentic Mexican cooking. We learned to char on the comal, made a salsa and Ranchera sauce, guacamole, and learned how to stuff chilies for a Chiles Rellenos dish. We will definitely arrange... More

We came back this year and took the class on Moles, it was fantastic. We have previously taken a couple other classes but this was the best so far. Made a green mole and Oaxaca Black Mole. It was the best thing I have ever had in Mexico. We made enough for our meal and were able to take some... More

I have taken several cooking classes before, so for the price I was expecting more cooking, and eating. What we got was a class explaining what chilies looked like felt like and what they were used for, a geography talk about were corn tortillas came from vs flour tortillas etc. Were to go to get authentic produce, like good cactus,... Food is culture. Travel is cultural exploration. Travel and cook and eat! We had a great day cooking with Donna. Despite claims that it would be impossible, we made 2 moles in our 5 hour class and they were both delicious. We even brought some home so that we'd be able to try to match what we made when we...
