Organic Tour in Huerta Los Tamarindos: 45 minutes, 6 guest minimum, $38 USD. Guests arrive and congregate under the large mango tree where they are offered fresh juice or iced lemon grass tea. As this is a working organic farm with strict hygiene standards, they will be asked to wash and disinfect their hands before the tour begins. Baskets and scissors will be distributed for collecting produce from the field, and participants will receive an instructional flier with information on organic agriculture. As the tour continues to the field, the guide, an agricultural engineer with vast experience as an organic farmer, will point out different aromatic herbs and vegetables, demonstrate the proper way to pick each of them, and explain what it takes to become a certified organic farm and how this differs from conventional farming. The last 10 minutes of the tour will be devoted to questions and answers from the tour group. There will be an opportunity for guests to use the restroom or have another glass of juice or iced tea. The tour will end in the ranch house, affording guests the opportunity to purchase a variety of products produced on the farm, including tomato sauce, and infused oils.

Well, I kind of thought my friend had taken a wrong turn and we were lost, NOT...when we finally got there about dusk, the sunset was beautiful while we had great margaritas, then yummy authentic mexican food, and more food. The dark drive back was the only draw back...be sure you know how to return to town if you go.

Very disappointed with what we read on the internet and what we received. When we received our bill every thing was in dollars and even tax was added to the class in dollars. Way too much money for what you get. Beware of hidden charges

Out of all the cooking classes we have taken in the world, it was the least liked. Beautiful property? Eh, not really. For what we paid, it was kinda a big waste of money. I guess if you don't drink it would be more affordable. Problem is, WE DRINK and boy was our check $$$$. This place cannot even hold... More

With so many options in San Jose, don't waste your time if you have organic food near you at home. I wrote an earlier review and not sure why I am asked to finish this one but please find my earlier comments. My 3 star is because the food was fresh, location nice but preparaton was amatuer.

Brace yourself for the road trip to the farm, it's a bumpy ride but worth it! Interesting facts in growing and maintaining an organic garden. A rustic quaint set up for the cooking class. Our chef was wonderful and our masterpiece of dishes sealed with their signature margaritas made the experience worthwhile.

A friend and I decided to have a light lunch at Huerta Tamarindo. The iced green tea was fabulous, the Margarita pizza was very good, and the arugula salad was fresh and tasty. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. We had a tour of the gardens and the cooking class area. We did not stay for the class.

If you can make your way to the restaurant which we did for a cooking lesson you will not be disappointed. The farm and freshness of the food was extraordinary. We made very simple dishes with veggies just picked from the garden. It's a rustic yet elegant atmosphere and staff was very nice. Although there is signage to the restaurant... More

I try to make it a point to take a cooking class in every country I visit to get a better feel of the culture and the cuisine. This place was excellent for both. Chef Enrique took us on a tour of the farm gardens where we were able to sample the various herbs and veggies organically grown. After that... More
