We thought there might be more art here - but much appears to be used as an art school. We did like the scrap metal sculptures of Don Quixote and Pancho, and appreciate some architectural elements like the massive round windows: impressive masonry.

We had the privilege of visiting this sight with a local who gave us a great tour and explained to us the architecture. This is truly a must if you visit Morelia.

This is a historical building arranged as museum. It had the taste of colonial days and the awesome of modern art collections. It's always a pleasure to get in there even just for a walk.

Centuries old Jesuit monastery transformed into a cultural center. Don't miss the sun dial on the outside wall: it still works!

I stumbled across this, and was so glad I did! I have a friend named Carmen, so I meandered over to the Virgen del Carmen church to look around and take photos. At some point I became aware that the former convent, connected to the...More

This is a large and superbly built building with a large courtyard facing a portico and a second floor built in pink rocks. The architecture is beautiful and well preserved. At different times there are many cultural activities, painting shows and a great selection of...More
