Sewell takes you back in time to the first copper mine in Chile and the largest one in the world. And it is still operational. The scenery is jaw dropping. A must see sight a couple of hours away from Santiago

This tour starts in Santiago where passengers are picked up for the long bus ride to the mine location. One hour later, we were joined by tour guide, Marco Ramirez, a former miner. As we entered the facility, we were transported into the past to...More

It's a long tour bus ride from Santiago, but jaw-droppingly astonishing. A unique experience and an incredible 'alien' sight.

I've reviewed my trip elsewhere on this site. It's well worth a visit but you'll probably need to contact Ignacio at VTS Tours in Rancagua. It costs around US$40 there and back from Santiago.

I can't make any comments about tours to this site. I was lucky enough to visit the site for work reasons. All though this is a UNESCO site, it is also a working mine. This was the only job site that I could not stop...More
