I had the great pleasure of diving with Victoria yesterday. She really went out of her way to make sure I enjoyed my Dive. My mask had fogging issues, so she let me use hers mid Dive. Luckily she had a spare for herself. It...More

My son discovered snorkeling last week while staying in the area so we booked the excursion out to a local reef. The guide (David) was great. He told us heading out that we'd likely see turtles and sting rays, and that he'd feed the turtles...More

Just a comment about the Dolphins - I discussed the subject at length with my instructor who tells me she has to walk through there every day and hates that walk with a passion. She informed me that this particular "Dolphin Prison" - as she put it so well - has seen much reduced interest from the public - a happy result of increased public awareness and movies like "The Cove" - to a point where the operators are looking at closing it down permanently. You see these Dolphin Prison Complexes all over the place between Cancun airport and Puerto Aventuras - I highly encourage everyone to ignore your kids requests to swim with the dolphins - the less money we inject into this subsection of the economy, the sooner they will be a thing of the past - it's already starting to happen! Don't think like "hey, it's already there, it's not going to hurt anyone to go visit". It does. It hurts all of the dolphins that are being raided out of their natural habitats and enslaved and imprisoned in these places for our "enjoyment". Instead, go on a catamaran cruise in the open ocean and watch the dolphins swim in their own home! Oh and don't blame the dive centers and their staff for these horrid examples of human culture - I would say 99.999% of them are against them with a passion - they are for the most part true ambassadors of the underwater world.
