As the title really. The sands are beautiful and the water is crystal clear, but the beach gets so busy you'll struggle to find a space, and it is extremely windy! Food and drink not massively overpriced, and sunbeds are 3€ each.

This beach was so beautiful - but try to go super early (~9 or 10a.m.) to avoid the crushing crowds and get a good spot.

I had high expectations for Elafonissi as it is rated #1 thing to do in Crete but it did not live up to expectations. It's was nice but my partner and I agreed that Balos was much nicer. If you do not have a car...More

Yes you can, but I think it is too far. Simply, you will drive for 3,5-4 hours in one direction to get there. First, you could drive on main road up to Kissamos. This road is wide and no tolls but it is not a highway. Its a... More
