Captain is actually now David. He operates a canal trip at high tide, 1 hr for US25pp., to view wildlife. For anyone interested to see lots of iguanas and many different native birds this is very worthwhile. We had a personalized trip with a sailor and a guide, who knew all the birds. at 9.30 am, we saw night herons, hummingbirds, ibis, and others, as well as dozens of sunbathing iguanas!

Traveling the Mangrove Jungle via the canal by boat early in the morning. Captain George has passed but his Widow with the help of David and Santos it is still the bent tour of the jungle. These two Captains and Guides have many years of experience and provide the best tour of the canel. This was my fifth trip in 20 years and the wildlife remains as it is a protected area. There are several million dollar home with million dollar yachts which now call it home. It remains the Top Tour even without Captain George,

After eating At Eddies for breakfast we took a short ride on this water taxis to see what Paradise Plaza. Was all about. We had never been here before and my husband and I had heard about it.
We will go back next year for their Farmers market, which we missed, it’s on a Tuesday, ( I think) and they have one of the largest grocery stores in the area .
We found a pair of cool shorts fo my husband at a small boutique.
But what I enjoyed most was the ferry ride over and back and looking at the YACHTS.
It. cost us 25 pesos each person, each way and they come about every half hour.

Accommodations were excellent. Front desk staff all informative and helpful. Thank you all the Alida’s!
Cleaning staff kept our place spotless and replenished supplies as needed.
Great location. Several excellent restaurants within walking distance and all were affordable.
Not a huge resort. Small hotel with loads of character.

This is a residential and commercial area surrounding a marina full of boats, many of them luxurious. A resident crocodile often basks in the sun next to the boats. Many of the smaller boat tours depart from here. Marina Vallarta was built in the 1980's, so it doesn't have the Mexican charm of the local neighbourhoods in town. However, is a nice place to stroll and grab a meal. Staying in this area could be fine too (beachside, marina side and golf course options available), as long as you aren't seeking the continuous downtown buzz and are fine to visit downtown as needed (a 20 minute drive away). In a normal year (not 2021) there is an outdoor market on Thursday nights.

Customer service could be better. Our T.V. control was not working properly and reception man told us he’d send somebody to help us, person never came. Over all ok. Very nice view and spacious.

We had no idea that this service was available until this year, we are staying in this area and another tourist shared with us that it was nice just to take it to go for coffee. What a great idea! It gets you on the water on a mini tour of the marina for 25 pesos. The wild life is wonderful to see along the banks.

We were staying at Vidanta but took a cab here. Walked around the Marina and ended up having a wonderful dinner at the Italian restaurant there. Sorry, but forgot the name of it. Have been here before and will return again in the near future.

Not much of a dock to walk around…they are all private. We snuck onto one and saw pelicans in the trees….bit of a disappointment but at least we got some well priced vanilla at the supermarket in the shopping centre.

We went on a Sunday morning and it was VERY quiet. We did find somebody to take 8 of us a pontoon ride down the river/channel and saw many crocodiles, hundreds of iguanas and nice homes and yachts. Glad we found somebody to do this as it was well worth the hour plus boat ride. We paid $14 each for 7 of us and they didn't charge for the 3 year old. Who really enjoyed looking for the crocs and iguanas. Fun day in the marina. Dec 2017.

Hi Helen, Thanks for info about water taxi and canal tour. .Could you provide some more information? Does Water Taxi across the channel between Paradise Village and Grand Mayan side have an online web address? What are hours of operation and schedule for back and forth? What is cost? You mentioned it was a bit difficult to find water taxi. Where are the boarding points? Thank you.

These are questions I cannot fully answer. The Neuvo water taxi is at the Yacht club just past the Mall and the condo complex that back onto the water. I believe it docks at the harbor in Puerto Vallarta where the cruise ships also dock.

I believe there is. But I have not taken it. I believe you can get it from the Nuevo Vallarta harbor.

My family of 3 will be visiting Nuevo Vallarta the week of Dec 17 and would love to hire Capt. Cruze (Eddie's boat) for a whale watching trip. Do you by chance know how to contact him and what his rates would be for about 3-4 hours? Would also like to learn more about what the river safari with Capt. George is and how much it costs. Thanks so much for any help!
Written 19 November 2017
No, sorry I don't know. But if you go down to the Nuevo Vallarta harbor, I am sure you can find out.
