There’s no comparing the emerald green waters of Minnewanka with any urban landscape. Mountain ridges stretch as far as the eye can see, eventually blurring into a blissful cascade of colours.

It’s no Morraine Lake or Lake Louise, but a lovely place to walk round and have some quiet time.we saw a long horned sheep being herded away by a ranger near the picnic area.

It is a huge lake and very beautiful. You can go there by taking the Roam transit buses(route6) In my opinion, Lake Minnewanka is more beautiful than Lake Louis.

The smoke from the local forest fires didn't help things. But the cruise was just ok for me. Didn't really see a whole heck of a lot.

The lake is beautiful, and one of the lakes in the region where you could get boat trips. It does have nice areas for picnic and trails. Not as spectacular as other lakes in the region. That was the places we found the larger concentration...More

Took advantage of the free bus from Banff to here and it was lovely. We had a lovely walk around and a boat ride. Plenty to do here.

This lake is not as busy as other water tourist attractions so was quite surreal once away from the car park and cafe area. Nice place for a walk around. It is only a stroll to Stewart Canyon.

Visited the lake and did a boat tour on 08/16/18 while in the area for a work conference. It's a little ways from the city center, but a nice ride as you can take the #6 bus from the high school. If you're looking to...More

There is a camping area there so I would say yes, but not sure if certain areas are closed off. Certainly the lake boat operations finish early evening in summer. Check Canada Parks website.
