Me, my boyfriend and my friend have even up there a few times on the canoes from the Banff Canoe Club and it is truly awesome. As you were making your way there you could stop off an view the beavers, although I think they have relocated now due to a storm. The wind is very harsh on the lake... More

Completely calm, shallow waters make this a great spot for a quick outing in a kayak or canoe. Gret for beginners or anyone who likes glassy-calm water and great scenery. A bit of noise from the nearby highway, but not enough to spoil it.

Went just after sunrise. Was cloudy so photos were average. Nice lakes and landscape view. Doesn't compare much to other areas of Banff but it's good for a short stop over

I have to travel this road on each visit. We drive along and stop every few minutes to take photos of beautiful reflections also great to walk along too. What a great place to view Mt. Rundle and we were lucky enough once.... to see a bald eagle there too. Seems to be a place the professional photographers gather at... More

The lakes already catch your eye when you travel on the Transcanadian near Banff. If you are driving eastwards from Lake Louise, a convenient car park just before one of the Banff exits gives you a great panorama with of course the silhouette of Imposing Mount Rundle in the background. One you've developed a taste for this view you will... More

Just did a drive through hoping to see moose, bear or deer but didn't see any. Very cool, wet day and they were doing some patching of the road. However we enjoyed the view and quiet peaceful atmosphere.

This area offers peaceful wetlands with a variety of birds; supposed to be a great place for birders. We did not spot any other wildlife the afternoon we were there. It is a slow 2-lane road with many people walking, jogging, riding bikes, etc. The scenery was a bit on the boring side compared to the majesty of the mountains.... More

We connected with this trail from the canoe docks in Banff. This is a very easy walk through some very nice wooded areas that quickly makes you feel like you have left the town behind very quickly. Only about a 5 or 6 Km walk to the lake but well worth the views.
