This is a good little hike with great views along the way and at the top. Well maintained and used trail. Be ready for changing weather conditions and a slippery trail if there is snow.

It takes about 1 hour to get to the top of Tunnel Mountain. At the top you have wonderful views of the Banff township, Banff Springs hotel and the whole valley. It is steep in places but stop, rest, walk slowly and you will get...More

To be honest, it is hard to top adr82's review of last week which gives a detailed overview of this walk. I will add that most hotels will have a map of winter walks which is very useful.

This is a perfect way to spend a morning or afternoon if you're not keen on doing one of the longer hikes in the area. You can easily walk out from the town centre to the start of the trail, and from there the whole...More

This is a nice accessible trail, wide open and a lot of viewpoints. The trail was being worked on when we were there, but the improvements are necessary.

This mountain towers above Banff and has a decent trail path for all to follow to the top. I had been pretty ill and was a little weak but I managed the hike to the top to take in the wonderful views. There are pathways...More

If you want a hike that provides great views, a good workout and you can access on foot if you are staying in town, go here. It is Banff...it is tourist and it is busy...I prefer quiet trails with less people but this one fit...More

A section of Tunnel Mountain Drive ends at the trailhead for Tunnel Mountain Trail, but that makes for great parking. This is a very popular all season hike, really, only a slightly strenuous walk. The trail is nice and wide, and while it is not...More

A beautiful walk up a switchback trail with nice views of Banff and the hotel. The walk down is much more enjoyable and quick!

I would suspect that the hike during better weather could be different. Unfortunately when we walked the trails that day, the entire valley was really hazy.

Hi It depends on the weather. Assuming there is no snow- it is possible. But I can't say it is going to be easy. Enjoy it

People hike this trail all year. In the winter, there will be snow and when it gets trodden, can become slippery. My guess is that if you have regular winter boots, it would be okay and and you could bypass any slippery... More
