The views during this hike are simply amazing, and coming up to Cory Pass, the scenery is even more stunning! Just make sure to walk clockwise, it is way steeper in the beginning though, but this way down would be quite sketchy. Prepare for a...More

My son and I did this hike in 4 hours 45 minutes with a 20 minute lunch half way and photo stops. Having only done this once I'm pleased we chose Cory to Edith rather than Edith to Cory. Come off the highway at junction...More

This hike, near Banff, makes a nice loop trail. By the time you get around the backside you have left all of civilization behind you. A good antidote to the busy main street of Banff. It is a good workout, so you need to be...More

I have been wanted to do this hike for some times and finally get the chance to see this magnificent Cory and Edith pass. This hike is not and easy hike with some scrambling up the pass, beautiful ledges along the mt. Edith, loose scree...More

We loved every part of it, because the view and changing landscape are amazing! The hike is challenging though, very long and steep with lots of gravel in the end.

As many other reviewers have noted the hike to Cory Pass is a challenge with long sections of steep climbing. We probably climbed 600m in the 2nd and 3rd kms of the walk. There then follows a km or so of ups and down in...More

This is one of my favorite hikes ever, but it is very difficult. Lots of steep grades, some scrambling, and even some boot skiing. Do not attempt if you are not a relatively experienced hiker and in good shape.

This hike is challenging but the views at the top are worth it. The entire loop through both passes is 8.5 miles according to our Garmin. The entire hike took us about 5.5 hours. I would recommend hiking clockwise so that you can continue to...More

I'm told Cory Pass is very rewarding, so I am giving this hike 3 stars based on the lousy Edith Pass section (which on it's own, I would give NO stars). If you've been hiking for a few years, you've done some great ones, and...More

As someone who has had little difficulty with trails designated "challenging" in the Lower 48, I was surprised to discover that in Canada, they really mean it! This was a tough hike, with quite steep (30-35% grades), a steep chimney to descend, some very loose...More

Hi, there were a couple of occasions during the first half of the hike that were a little unclear, one especially where the trail appears to head out on a rocky ledge. Here though ,if you look up to the left, there was a... More

Hello mbosch102, Unless you are a marathoner you will be getting finished nearly at dark or even after. The last part of the hike (if you do it in the clock-wise route) is pretty easy, so I guess you could do it if you... More
