Although I have been to the Canadian Rockies four times, this was the first time I visited this place. Lake Louise and Lake Morraine are much more famous but sadly both lakes have been overly developed. There are hotels next to the lakes and tour...More

I have been up to Peyto Lake almost every time I drive the Icefields Parkway. It is beautiful no matter the weather or season. The viewing platform at the end of the trail is quite small so it gets very crowded fast. My first time...More

This is probably one of the most beautiful places in Banff National Park. A short 15 minute hike from the lower parking lot. Incredible views, very busy in the summer, so get there early if you want to have some quiet time away from the...More

I have visited Payto Lake numerous times although it is inaccessible from late Fall to late Spring due to the volume of snow this region receives. The beautiful, fragrant walk through high altitude forest to the viewpoint of the lake is easy (not strenuous) and...More

I've lived in Jasper and Peyto Lake is my favourite lake along the Icefields Parkway. The views and color of the lake are like nothing else and pictures do not do it any justice. *Note that the lake can still be frozen and snow covered...More
