During one of my friends' visits to Calgary, we decided to add a visit to this museum. We enjoyed every bit of our time there. There is so much to see - and the changing exhibits provide for new material and reasons to attend. As it is downtown, parking is not ideal.. depending on when you are visiting - but... More

Spent a wonderful afternoon at the Glenbow. A well thought out presentation of Alberta's history and how the province fits in to the rest of Canada. Very enjoyable and educational.

A nice museum with varied exhibits including Western Canadian Art and Photography, Asian Art, Militaria, Anthropology, Mineralogy and History of Alberta among others. Though not as extensive as the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, this museum was not bad and worth spending a few hours.

I like the exhibits that visit this museum. It gives you an opportunity to see things you otherwise wouldn't be able to.

I only had 5 hours to walk downtown Calgary, visited Bow River Park, and Glenbow Museum an excellent building with children visiting in different shows, one sees it is a much loved institution. I saw a first rate photography show of the expendions in the early 1900´s of the northern territories around the Hudson Bay. I learned in 2 hours... More

Excellent spaced out museum (more an ethnic gallery) and art / photographic exhibition. The intricately laid out chronology of Alberta / North West is carefully and critically laid out. Refreshingly so relative to many other "local" museums. The detailed rendering of the treatment of First Nations peoples was particularly harrowing and bleak. Likewise other ethnic groups such as the Japanese... More

If you have been to the museums in the States then you would definitely be disappointed with this one in Calgary. Most of the exhibits remain the same throughout all these years. The place just doesn't feel very welcoming as it is dark and small.
