Stephen Avenue Walk is a mostly pedestrian street which cuts through the heart of downtown Calgary. It is cull of good restaurants, independent stores, department stores and lots of places to simply sit down and relax. Unlike many similar streets in other large urban centres, Stephen Avenue is clean and mostly devoid of beggars and street people.

High concentration of brand-name retail stores and a unique variety of innovative restaurants and pubs. Our major theatre opportunities are also within walking distances. No better location for enjoying the YYC pedestrians and their various interests! Patios galore for enjoying our summer season---and generally speaking--- friendly and informative service is in abundance. To visit YYC---Walk the Walk is a Must!... More

For a first-comer, for sure it's quite charming without traffic and many of the old downtown storefronts intact, but behind the facade one can pretty well find, with a few exceptions, what every mall in the world offers, mainstream mediocrity. Take your walk, select an attractive-looking resto-bar and enjoy.

This is a pedestrian lane right in the centre of downtown Calgary close to city hall, just a block from light rail, close to museum, Olympic plaza and performing centre.

We walked through here fairly early on a Saturday morning so not a lot was open. However, we loved the old buildings, the various sculptures and the cafe scene, which added colour. The only problem was finding public toilets. The visitors centre at the Calgary Tower had come outside to enjoy the sunshine and they were extremely helpful and friendly.

A pedestrian friendly street that spans about 5 blocks or so. Nothing stands out as a major tourist item but there are some restaurants, shops and office buildings. The street is closed to vehicles most of the day.

There are plenty of stores to walk around, but it was very quiet when we were there. Nice way to spend the afternoon. Road closed to cars which is always nice and relaxing. Variety of Stores & restaurants. There didn't seem much else to do that day, so in that sense, its a tourist attraction.
