From the splendor of the Rocky Mountains to the heart of Destination Africa, The Calgary Zoo takes you to see almost 900 animals from around the world. Trek through the gorilla’s rainforest, safari over the Savannah to watch the hippos swim, or climb the Canadian Wilds to see a grizzly bear. Cool off and get beak to nose with 4 species of penguins in our popular Penguin Plunge or visit endangered red pandas and amur tigers in Eurasia! Wind down your trip with a walk through our fragrant Dorothy Harvie Gardens or sit with the butterflies in ENMAX Conservatory. You'll love knowing that every visit helps protect endangered animals at home and in the wild.

NEW in 2017 is the unique and immersive permanent Land of Lemurs exhibit. Coming in 2018 are the iconic giant pandas!

It was really cold and we asked at admission how long we could have before we couldn't ask for a refund. We wanted to see if we could bear the cold. We walked around for 23 minutes and found out we couldn't see any animals or really go inside anywhere so we asked for our refund. We were questioned and... More

In my days been to lots of zoos ,some too big, some small cages but this one just right. Animals seemed happy and healthy. The zoo is large with some walking but if you have little ones, there are so many play areas. Lots of picnic areas available. Not hundreds of animals but a good slice of the animal kingdom. They are... More

I have enjoyed visiting the Calgary Zoo since moving here in 2008 - and I have enjoyed it a million times more since the introduction of the Penguin Plunge exhibit (as a penguin lover). There are so many animals to see, and it is a lovely walk. It is better to go earlier in the day, or later in the... More

Calgary zoo is always a great day out. Plenty to see and do. The yearly passes are brilliant as you can explore different parts over a period of time. The food options are also great and priced reasonable. Great fun for all the family

Great experience all around. Kids will love it as well as adults, we certainly did. The only advice I have aside from making sure you go is to make sure you get there early. We were there about half an hour after opening and it was already getting lined up. By the time we left it was insane! Ginormous lines... More

The Calgary Zoo is an incredibly fun and informative experience. We are members and go at least monthly. The biggest highlight for us is the penguin plunge and the gorillas and are always the first animals we see. The volunteers are particularly knowledgable in the penguin plunge. During the winter months the daily penguin walk is my favourite, get there... More

From the trip through the Dinosaur section at the start to seeing the Komodo dragons at the end our daughters were in love with the zoo from start to finish. The penguin area was exciting but very crowded and the smaller kids struggled to see. Once outside they were in there element. Despite a day that was cool and somewhat... More

This took us a full day and we really enjoyed it! It is different than many zoo's because their enclosures are quite large and beautiful. With some zoos we leave feeling sorry for the animals. However, the Calgary zoo has done a great job of making habitats and helping future generations learn about these many animals. The kids grow very... More

Have visited Calgary Zoo four times, and every time we seem to find something new and interesting. Wide variety of animals and exhibits, as well as good food. A bit of a hassle to get too, although new roads have been constructed since our last visit. Overall super fun place!

Cannot rate this zoo highly enough! Amazing exhibits and a very well laid out zoo with loads of fantastic appropriate decor! There is a huge selection of animals to see and learn about and none of the animals seem bored or uncared for like they do in some other zoos I have visited in the past. The deer walk through...
