Wetlands and woods

Nice place to poke around, watch some bird life or water critters, walk, hike and bike. Nature in the city. Relaxing and refreshing.

I just recently discovered this park, despite having visited the nearby Glenmore Park numerous times. This is a lovely park, and while walking through it you hear just the relaxing sounds of nature. You feel as though you have left the city... but you haven't at all. It's terrific.

So hard to believe we have such a nice get away (from the city madness) right in the middle of that city. Paths are in good shape. People are either being respectful and not littering or the city is doing a great job with cleaning up. Where else in a city of $1M+ can you drive 5 mins from your... More

Always interesting as see many species of birds generally up close, educational for all ages and gives opportunity to learn and interact with natural and so many of our animals, have seen coyotes, squirrels, birds, and probably have missed others

I love this end of the park, many of the bridges, all i think, were taken out by the floods, the new ones are amazing. from the main path, which is biker/pedistrian friendly, there are lots of skinny dirt paths to explore. Wetlands, swampish full of interesting life are scattered. AT one time the west end was part of the... More

Just like that you are in the midst of a beautiful Rocky Mountain foothills setting. Lots of wildlife in the morning and early evening. A great part of the world class bike path system throughout Calgary.

What a gem in the city! Beautiful scenery and wildlife. We saw beavers building damns swimming up the river. Lots of trails with historical information. Easy to follow maps.

This natural area protects the Elbow River as it enters the Glenmore Reservoir, and so is a mix of woodlands, rivers, ponds, and meadows. There is an excellent paved pathway running through it, and the pathway continues north, south and east. In addition, there are many less formal trails and tracks that are wonderful for mountain biking or walking. The... More
