We went cross-country skiing at Shaganappi Point Golf Course in February 2017. Hadn't been on skis for ten years, so we wanted someplace mild enough for newbies, but challenging enough for experienced skiers. Shaganappi Golf Course was perfect. It has some small hills, and a few larger ones, but mostly just vast space for finding your "sea legs" on the... More

Just west of downtown, there's a gem of a place for cross country and shows how enthusiasts - after a snowfall. Accessed from 26th St SW or Cedar Cr SW, youvwod believe you were far far away from the city.

Ok, this is not a championship course by any stretch, but it is mostly well maintained and you can walk it in about four hours. The front is fairly flat and has three par 3s. I wish people who hit the ball high enough to make pitch marks on the green would actually fix them, but this is a public... More

I had the wonderful opportunity to be invited to the Shaganappi Point Golf Course driving range. What a blast! Rental clubs were so affordable ($2 each, balls $17/100) the staff was friendly, the greens impeccably kept and plenty of golf balls. The range was almost full to capacity and I got a few tips to ensure the ball went straight... More

This course is just out of downtown and you can enjoy the beautiful view of downtown on the driving range and at the entrance. It wasn't an issue getting a tee time for the afternoon the day before. Staff was kind and happy and the course was well maintained and challenging. Great way to spend the afternoon with friends and/or... More

We've gone a couple of times this year golfing the 9 hole course. Staff are friendly and the price is quite reasonable. They keep the courses in pristine condition considering our hot weather this year. Have golfed the 18 hole course in the past & it was also great. We had some "knuckle head" behind us yelling to go faster... More

My friend talked me into golfing this course for the first time, and we had a blast! We only golfed 9 holes, which was probably enough for me. The Pro Shop staff was very accommodating, and the course wasn't too challenging for a newbie golfer like me. Will be back!

Found the course to be in good shape for April. The greens were slow but to be expected with the time of year. The course plays short with a lot of par 3's and short par 4's. Check it out if you are looking for something to do during the week.

First time we played at Shag and we were both impressed. The golf course was in good shape with challenging layouts. Although the back nine is short (4 par 3s), the views of the city of Calgary made our day.

Decided to work on my fitness level so after a good snowfall, I dusted off and waxed my skis. It's been a long time so I decided to try groomed trails on the golf course. It was great! The 3 or 4 km. of trails are maintained by Ski Club volunteers, there are wonderful signs and as long as there... More
