During summer, it is a very active site. It hosts the "Taste of Edmonton" and various other events. Often a band will be playing or a large fitness class will be exercising. Corporate Challenge events take place here. If there is no activity, there are still ping pong tables set up and tables at which you can eat a meal

People always complain about all the concrete - how it's cold in the winter and boiling hot in the summer. I love the concrete. It used to be grass, which is great, but with all the festivals in the summer, and the rain that happens, it turned into a giant mudbath. So enjoy the boiling hot concrete - there's only... More

This is not a family friendly location. It is very dirty with lots of homeless people hanging around.

We had a few hours in Edmonton and decided to stroll around here late in the afternoon. It is very pleasant with interesting buildings and we would have liked more time to visit the Art Gallery etc. Some interesting sculpture as well.

Churchill Square is the main public gathering spot in downtown Edmonton, and is the location for many of the city's festivals. It is also the headquarters for Edmonton's arts venues -- Arts Museum, Symphony Hall, Performing Arts Theatre. Edmonton's beautiful modern City Hall (which is shaped as a pyramid) and fountains dominate the square. Well worth a visit.

Activities vary for city to be setting up. Space there leads to many shops & businesses. Non smoking area , water in pool with spray at certain times. Leads to the "City hall ".

The Art gallery is next to it and Metro station is exclusively for this square. You find lot of small hawker shops and sovinier shops in this square. We were super excited to check out this parade and introduce our son to a few different cultures. The parade was to start at 12:00 so we went down to Churchill square and got a spot around 11:45. By 1:00 the parade still wasn't there, it finally arrived around 1:30 by then my son had lost interested but we told... More

Second year we visit this event. Always stay in a nearby hotel. The food is amazing, and if the feet hurt, sit down at the beer garden and enjoy the live music
