We, as a family, travelled for the afternoon there to see animals. One lake marked on the map seemed to be dried up. It was a warm and pleasant day.

Considering it's national park celebration in collaboration with Canada 150th Birthday I would have expected some serious investment in the park in advance thereof. We walked the board walk which was in dire need of repair - my grandma would not have made it (you...More

Elk Island park is a stone's throw from Edmonton and well worth visiting. It's a national park and they're doing great work on increasing the bison population (which was almost extinct) and relocating them to others parts of Alberta. Drive around the bison and loop...More

When visiting an attraction that has animals as part of that attraction, you have to be aware that it is not a zoo and they may not show up. But, we struck lucky and saw bison - both in a group on the bison road...More

It was an early season trip and the weather was really windy, so that took away from it. 😕 But... it's a beautiful National Park. Because it's early in the season, there weren't many people around, so I had all the peace & quiet I...More
