We did a little drive out to Saskatoon lake provincial park park. It was still quite wet out but the kids enjoyed the trails and park in the day use area. Can't wait for summer as it's a nice campground and picnic spot.

Scenic spot for a stroll or to look for the wildlife by/in the Lake. Facility includes picnic benches.

Like that it is close to Grande Prairie . Also like that we can reserve and most of sights are fairly private.

Saskatoon Island Provincial Park is a great family destination all year around. Summer camping, picnics, bird watching and gatherings. Lots of walking trails and nature, easily accessed. There are ball diamonds, picnic shelters and fire pits. Winter activities include snow shoeing, skating, hot dog roasts and walking in the woods.

Walking trails - there is one that's even wheelchair friendly. Serene surroundings, visited by the occasional moose, deer or bear. Lots of campsites, with good facilities - although I come here only for walks. Group gathering areas, day-use areas, picnic tables, this is a good place to come for a day, or for a weekend. The group areas can be... More

We recently stayed 2 nights at Sask Island PP and found it a great place to stay while exploring Grand Prairie. It is only 5 km from the Philip Currie Dinosaur Museum and only 15km from GP. There are plenty of nice sites with power and very good hiking paths which lead out to excellent bird and wildlife viewing areas.... More

Campgrounds these days seem to provide more spaces and less privacy. I guess they feel that RV's provide enough of that if you sit inside. Thankfully, this is NOT one of those places. There is lush greenery all over, lots and lots of natural bush and prairie style forest between the individual sites. You can sit and have a fire... More

20 kms from Grande Prairie. There are different campsites, group camping, some with power. There is fire wood. Saskatoon berries aplenty. Nice trails around the lake. There are group campsites in the day use area. This is very clean and a great place for a picnic. It is monitored by park officers. Highly recommend.
