Needs new murals. They are looking a little tired. By the way --- I have driven the Trans Canada up island several times over the last few years -- and I never knew that there was a town -- when you turn right. I thought CHemanius was the antique store on Highway #1 -- What up?

We didn't know what to expect when we stopped in Chemainus. Just a little town with nice local businesses everywhere. These murals definitely add some charm to this beautiful little piece of heaven.

Amazing murals that show the historyof Chemainus. Very well maintained, they are easily accessible on foot. Painted foot prints on the sidewalk guide you from one mural to the next.

There were a lot of talented artists who contributed to the street murals. If you haven't seen them, you need to go. They speak to the history of each location in the town.

I visited Chemainus ten years ago, and these wall murals are still very well maintained today. This is definitely my most favourite town in Vancouver Island full of cute little shops and cafe.

Spent an afternoon in Sept 2016 wandering the streets of the town admiring the many and varied wall murals.. Only minor problem was the fact that cars were allowed to park in front of some of them so it was difficult to get good pictures.

The wall murals are some of the best we have seen in the world, taking you through the history of Vancouver Island. We just hope the ones on some of the unoccupied buildings continue to be maintained.

We walked around the town to see all the murals and they were great. What a fantastic idea. Well worth a stop on your journey through Vancouver Island Its a free attraction but you can pay to have a guided tour on a horse drawn buggy. .

We walked around Chemainus to see if we could take in all the wall murals. We were quite impressed. This made for a nice walk after a great lunch. This walkable town is truly enhanced with these murals, each with a story. You can pick up a brochure at a variety of places and you can find out more about... More
