Back then in 1988 and now
Apr 2020
That was then... 1988... that is. A cozy place with one main road, then, having charming cozy buildings, restaurants, and probably lodging on one side and the beach with the sand contest on the other side with a walkway leading from one side to the hot spring side of the venue. It seems plenty has disappeared being replaced by so much development and commercial venues. and it's like a town now compare to that one strip along the lake in 1988. What has become the Milos Greek Tavern building was there years back but with a more cozy authentic feel. Black Forest Restaurant building was also there at the time but has had some facelift since. But this is the place to enjoy visiting regardless and it's a beautiful scenic area. Way more commercialized as seen on so any pictures of the current area but I certainly would go back visiting.

We really enjoyed our 2 nights there. The hotel was really mindful of Covid and everything was really clean. The restaurants were really great and the Hot Springs was amazing

Beautiful place to visit
Aug 2020
Beautiful lake and mountains surround the lovely town of Harrison Hot Springs. Walk along the lake front, shop in the quaint stores, meander through the trails, swim in the lagoon or enjoy the water play park out on the lake. There is so much to do and see at Harrison. Don't forget the short walk to the Hot Springs themselves!

several walking trail options along the lake, springs source access too
Sep 2020
Lovely area to walk around. Several nearby trails. Area kept very clean.

If you walk on the trail along the lake just past the Harrison Hot Springs Resort, about 10 minutes walk you will get to the hot springs source. You can soak in the small pool/lake area, but easiest to just remove shoes and soak the foot. Be cautious to take note of where the water is trickling out of and do not soak there, steaming hot like boiling water. There have been several smaller rocks placed in this area to divert water to hot but not steaming water.

If you walk along the sidewalk/seawall in the main strip of town, it's only about 4 blocks long, including condo areas. Many eating options and a few shops to poke in if looking for something.

Very peaceful walking trails and always felt safe. As well, people adhered to social distancing along the trails and were respectful in these areas of others.

Great Family and friends getaway!
Aug 2020
Harrison Hot Springs is a lovely little town to visit. It felt like we went on a small vacation, Water park was excellent thing to do for kids, Black Forest restaurant (German) made a nice arrangement and placed us (11 ppl) into a separate area outside, food was understanding, lots of people outside on the beach or just browsing around, enjoying the Summer. Many flowers on the streets, which makes walking around more enjoyable.

The walking trails were amazing. The scenery was amazing.
The lake is cold but very clean. It wasn't very busy at this time because of Covid.

Terrible
Aug 2020
Way too many people crowded together along the beach walk way and grass area. No one distancing, no one wearing masks and no one caring about the impact of having too many people in one area.

Surrounded by mountains and a perfect size scenic park. Well maintained by the parks board. Lots of signs re CoVid. Lovely walls and hikes. So close from Vancouver. A great escape.

Great place for a short city break
Jul 2020
This is a great spot for a city break! Bring the family, friends, partner, and you'll find something to do!

The Lake has a shallow lagoon area for the kids to play. Harrison Watersports has a waterpark, bbq boat rentals, bumper boats, etc. Killers Cove Boat Rentals has kayaks, pedal boats, boats, etc. for rent.

You can spend hours here on a sunny day. Bring a mat, sunscreen, hat, etc. There is very little shade. Parking is $9 for a maximum of 3 hours. Signs are posted for social distancing and beach rules (no tents, specific bbq guidelines).

Lots of options for food and drink nearby with, restaurants, cafes, 1 supermarket, and liquor store a few blocks away. Public bathrooms, outdoor gym, public pool (currently close due to Covid19) is in the middle. The west side has the lagoon, rentals and waterpark The east side has the playground, volleyball nets, BBQ and picnic tables etc.

There is a nice walkway along the lakefront. There are several hotels on the lakefront.

We could see kite surfers, seadoos, paddle boards, etc., so lots of water sport options here.
