I enjoyed every minute. I highly recommend good walking shoes if you decide to walk around the island. The beaches close by to the ferry are amazing. The only negative is the washrooms were a bit dirty, with garbage's overflowing. We got their after lunch...More

It was my first time visiting Newcastle Island Marine Provincial Park, and it was a blast! It is remote, yet close to the downtown harbour. You feel like the only person on the island, wandering the trails and taking in the scenery. Bring a picnic...More

Beautiful surroundings with ocean views all around, easy walking trails, various beaches, all very well maintained and clean. The 10 minute boat ride was fun and reasonable in price, with regular departure times in the summer. Limited concessions available in the bistro/restaurant

This island is absolutely magic. It is a healing place, and has been for centuries, for the Snuneymuxw Nation and is very easy to understand why once one sets foot on it. There is a fabulous trail for walking, witnessing, experiencing nature or gourmet running....More

A short ride across the harbour from Nanaimo, a selection of woodland and coastal trails on this small island. This is a good introduction to the forests of Vancouver Island, but is no match for the likes of Pacific Rim NP. More of a diversion...More
