We didn't do long hikes, so can only tell something about the beaches between Ucluelet and Tofino. They are nice, but not extremely spectacular. I wouldn't take the long drive here just for the national park, luckily there are lots of other activities.

Flat, warm sand. Crashing waves. Cool breezes. Other worldly scenery. There is a very informative visitor center, near the old Wickanninish inn.

This park covers mainly ancient forest and stunning beeches. There are various visitor centres and walks so it's easy to dip in and out of as you drive through the park. I'm not sure about getting there by public transport. It's pretty remote but well...More

Spent a pleasant day and a half at anchor in Effingham bay, Effingham Island waiting for a forecast storm. The hike across the island was really cool. Overgrown and muddy but incredible to really get into the rain forest.

The wild - trees, water, sea and beaches combined in perfect unspoilt harmony and a walking encounter with two black bears - was just magical!

Lots of great trails to do with varying difficulty. A chance of spotting bears and wolves. Some of the wooden walk ways are a little rickatee but seem safe enough. Lots of eagles to see and some amazing coastlines.

This is the reason to visit Tofino/Ucluelet. As 2017 is Canada’s 150th anniversary, entrance to the park was free. Long Beach is stunning. Combers Beach is windy but with birds and rocks with sealions (seen via binoculars). Radar Hill is worth visiting at sunset. Don't...More

trails are fairly short and easy for families. Some lead to beautiful beaches, some just through gorgeous rainforest.

The Pacific Rim National Park is amazing and a must see if you are on the island. There really is no place like it. As it is a national park, most of the time you need to pay to park there, but it is free...More

Strongly reccomend Cobblewood Guest House in Tofino if you are looking for a comfortable quiet stay. Also, try the Shelter restaurant. You will love the ambiance, food and local beers on tap.
