Downtown Vancouver's public gallery named after acclaimed Haida artist Bill Reid. The Gallery is home to the Simon Fraser University Bill Reid Collection and special exhibitions of contemporary Aboriginal Art of the Northwest Coast. Highlights include Bill Reid's stunning gold and silver jewelry, monumental sculptures and a towering totem pole by James Hart of Haida Gwaii. Visit the Gallery Shop, a source for Northwest Coast gifts, including carefully selected works of original art, finely crafted jewelry, and uniquely designed accessories and giftware. Inspired by the Gallery's exhibitions, featured pieces are authentic and indigenous. All purchases in the Gallery Shop support contemporary Northwest Coast artists. Located in the heart of downtown, just steps from the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Pacific Centre Mall and Canada Line Skytrain City Centre Station.

Bill Reid is an essential BC artist. This little gallery/museum is a nice intro to him and his work. $11 for adults. Only three small galleries. Right downtown. Nice gift shop.

Canada is now all about their Indigenous Peoples history. It appears Canada previously treated these people much like the US treated the American Indian- Not very nice. Good little museum dedicated to Bill Reid art & sculpture. Need maybe 1 hour there

The Bill Reid Gallery is centrally located downtown. Wonderful art, a nice gift shop and a spectacular back grassy area. The architecture of the gallery is beautiful. We will visit again.

Lovely small collection of Bill Reid's art and other Indigenous artists. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. If you have only a short amount of time, you can still enjoy this small gallery of works!

We stopped by this very interesting museum telling the story of Bill Reid and his Haida Gwaii heritage early in our trip. We felt that it helped us to understand all the totems and art we were about to see on our journey.

If you are into the culture of the original inhabitants of this area, you will enjoy the visit, but it is small and the focus is this genre only, so if you are not a devotee, it will be a miss.

You will not understand North West Indian art--Haida, Tlingit, Kwakiutl, etc--unless you come here and let Bill Reid (on video) tell you himself. Magnificent small museum with Reid's sensational work up close and personal, with many works inspired by or dedicated to him. But then,...More

Beautiful exhibition with life story, short videos and audios, sculptures, jewelry and so much more. We learned a lot and enjoyed immensely. Bathrooms lower level (wheelchair accessible by elevator). Nice gift shop but not forced. Staff quite pleasant and helpful. Go. #silversagemag
