Really? Its sad that this is what has become of Vancouver. I've never seen so many protests and complainers in my life.

Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to go inside but just walking around the place makes my eyes pop because it is just so beautiful to look at. The building's facade reminded me of Rome's Colosseum. I'll definitely put going back and making it inside the library next time i visit.

The Vancouver Public Library is located on Robson Street beside the giant BC Place Stadium. Robson Street is Vancouver's "Rodeo Drive". The library is fully equipped. I take my 4 year old son there. The children's section is massive. There's always some very animated "reader" surrounded by kids at "storey-time". There's plenty of computer stations and work stations for students... More

Came here during a trip with our daughter for the children's music session. My wife really loved the energy and enthusiasm shown by the session leaders. The library and facilities are a bit old and dated but the place is all about the people supporting and running it.

Vancouver library is an absolute pleasure to visit. The building is beautiful, airy and an architectural landmark. Unfortunately it seems to be more popular with tourists, international students and visitors than locals.

I've always found the staff helpful at this branch. My favorite place to chill out and research is on the upper levels across the bridges

Love the architecture of the building, the inside is a bit cold but it is practical and the biggest selection of books in the province. I prefer to look for the books I need only and then have them sent to the library that is closest to me.

Huge selection in the best designed library! There were a lot of naysayers on the design when the library was first built but I think they are all proud of the design now. The library is always packed full of people.

Large, beautiful designed library with about 6 floors of resources and friendly staff. Lots of internet terminals but still get busy. Have the usual book, magazine, DVD & Blueray available for borrowing. as well as some electronic/ digital media. Kids section downstairs is especially nice & comfy.and has a story time. Large tall atrium has snacks, cafe's and coffee.

Staying in Robson Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Robson Street
Robson Street is a shopper's paradise. Whether a window shopper or a serious trendsetter, a fashionista or a dabbler, the crowd of independent boutiques, quirky one-off shops, and well-known luxury brands on Robson Street have something to cater for every itch in your wallet. As a result, it draws a diverse crowd, and the people-watching along this famous walking thoroughfare is a primary attraction. In between the clothing shops both high-street and budget-friendly are a number of cafes to lay down your load, as well as numerous specialty stores ranging in their wares from music, to art, to city souvenirs. Known as "Vancouver's Runway," if a new trend is on the rise, you'd spot it here first.
