One of my favorite libraries in the world. It is the most accessible to the public as it claims to be a public library. What impressed most is it is so friendly to the immigrants. Equipped with as many languages as possible, this library is even more lenient to lending out musical instruments. it re-defines what library is in modern... More

This Library complex in Vancouver, B.C. is architecturally fascinating! I'm not usually drawn to visiting libraries when I'm on vacation, but this one is so interesting looking I just had to check it out. I will say, it certainly seems to be a popular place. The Library was packed! There are seven floors. Some of them fill the entire level... More

Vancouver's public library system is excellent. There are many outlets in various communities around Vancouver downtown, and if a particular book or DVD is not there then it can be ordered and it will be shipped to the location nearest to your home or place of work. And it is all for free!

If time had permitted I would have visited this building. My recommendation is purely to suggest seeing its architecture and time permitting, a visit inside

This library is huge and with the advantage to have some close by shops inside the library. However it might be with a lot of unwanted people gathering at the entrance during a warm day. I didn't like that all the people are smoking right at the entrance, public library should be more smoke free area, specially kids sensitive to... More

Our last day in Vancouver and we had a few hours to kill before heading to the airport. Decided to go to the library to check out the news. Didn't open until about 10am so had a coffee nearby and waited. When it opened it was inundated with locals - families especially. There was a story time for kids downstairs... More

Staying in Robson Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Robson Street
Robson Street is a shopper's paradise. Whether a window shopper or a serious trendsetter, a fashionista or a dabbler, the crowd of independent boutiques, quirky one-off shops, and well-known luxury brands on Robson Street have something to cater for every itch in your wallet. As a result, it draws a diverse crowd, and the people-watching along this famous walking thoroughfare is a primary attraction. In between the clothing shops both high-street and budget-friendly are a number of cafes to lay down your load, as well as numerous specialty stores ranging in their wares from music, to art, to city souvenirs. Known as "Vancouver's Runway," if a new trend is on the rise, you'd spot it here first.
