An architecturally pleasing structure. The facilities are well designed, and the architecture is pleasing and acessable. .

Neat architecture in this light-filled space opened in May 1995. Nine stories, though only seven are open to the public. The ground level of the atrium includes various food vendors. Lots of movies and TV shows have been filmed on-site, including Supergirl, Battlestar Gallactica, Psych, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Finding Mr. Right, Passengers, Smallville, and Stargate SG-1, among others.... We stayed at the Westin Grand which overlooked the Library and looking down at it was like looking at the Colosseum in Rome. A very uniquely shaped building from the outside. When we walked by it was closed so we weren't able to go inside but it looks to be much larger than it appears from the outside. A lot... More

Drove by the library on a hop-on tour of Vancouver. Located near gas town. The building reminds me of the coliseum in Rome. Very large brick building.

The building has a very beautiful design. Inside is bright and sunlight comes through the windows. The outer area is popular for pigeons the bird.

When studying beginner Mandarin, I popped in here to see what they had in Mandarin Children's books. Quite a lot. I remember the light in this building was very nice.

I love having access to this wonderful resource. From hardcopy books to e-books, magazines, newspapers, research sources, to even instruments and access to a recording studio. I am so pleased to have the library available and with most services and resources available at no cost, it truly is for every citizen.

Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to go inside but just walking around the place makes my eyes pop because it is just so beautiful to look at. The building's facade reminded me of Rome's Colosseum. I'll definitely put going back and making it inside the library next time i visit.

The Vancouver Public Library is located on Robson Street beside the giant BC Place Stadium. Robson Street is Vancouver's "Rodeo Drive". The library is fully equipped. I take my 4 year old son there. The children's section is massive. There's always some very animated "reader" surrounded by kids at "storey-time". There's plenty of computer stations and work stations for students... More

Staying in Robson Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Robson Street
Robson Street is a shopper's paradise. Whether a window shopper or a serious trendsetter, a fashionista or a dabbler, the crowd of independent boutiques, quirky one-off shops, and well-known luxury brands on Robson Street have something to cater for every itch in your wallet. As a result, it draws a diverse crowd, and the people-watching along this famous walking thoroughfare is a primary attraction. In between the clothing shops both high-street and budget-friendly are a number of cafes to lay down your load, as well as numerous specialty stores ranging in their wares from music, to art, to city souvenirs. Known as "Vancouver's Runway," if a new trend is on the rise, you'd spot it here first.
