Stopped by on our way out of town. Beautiful quarry gardens and grand views of downtown Vancouver. There is no fee for the outside gardens other than parking. The "Love In the Rain" sculpture, akin to the love lock bridge in Paris, was captivating in its simplicity of presentation of one of life most important aspects. Definitely worth the time... More

Queen Elizabeth park has a great view over to the mountains. Beautiful flowers (tulips and other) when we went in May. The Japanese garden area is amazing. There were four weddings happening around the park so we did feel as though we were getting in the way a little but it was still lovely. Check out the Bloedel Conservatory if... More

Queen Elizabeth is a beautiful surprise of a park. Shaded walk paths abound and the view from the top of the hills showing the Vancouver skyline is just beautiful. Not to mention the Seasons Restaurant that offers a fine dining experience. Best to come before sunset to watch the lights of the city come on at night.

Spent an afternoon at the gardens and found it to be a very peaceful place to spend some time. There was no entry fee and the gardens are well kept and the walking paths are clean. The only downside was having to get a cab there as you cannot walk it from Granville Island, my recommendation is to get a... More

This seems like the kind of place that I would love if I was a local. There are some really beautiful gardens and views of the city. However, not sure it was worth our time to go 15 minutes out of the city center by cab to see it, and it was difficult to get a cab back.

A must visit. Well manicured gardens with plantings staggered so something is always in bloom. I saw some species that I had not seen before, and in bloom. The aviary is also a must. One gets a chance to see tiny colorful birds at arms length. Wonderful!

Stop by the conservatory and check out the birds. The tropical environment is a good contrast to crisp Vancouver air. The disparate views of the park, the mountains and the city leave quite an impression.

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighbourhood Profile
Shaughnessy
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
