Some vendors selling food, arts/crafts and fresh produce. I didn't think there was anything unique here that I couldn't find anywhere else in Vancouver.

The market offers such a variety of foods from all over the world. Good eats, fresh produce, baked goods, artisans, entertainment around every corner. If you're looking for something special check out the art galleries, pottery stores, clothing and don't miss the hand made brooms created on site. Go hungry there's food for all desired tastes, then take home amazing... More

I walked from downtown over the bridge to visit Granville Island and it was an amazing day. You get a beautiful view of the city and the ocean and seagulls as big as eagles (maybe a little exaggerated) will steal your ice cream cones. It has such a sweet old charm and speaking of sweet, there was a cute sweets... More

Had the crepes and they were so good! We enjoyed looking at the different vendors and noting unique finds.

I reviewed the Vancouver Fish House. The bakery here is lovely and I always stop by for fresh fruit for my hotel room

If you want to eat it, it can be found at the market! Prices seemed to be high, though. We were here in November, spouse's cell phone died, and Granville Island has no pay phones. We finally had to ask a stranger if we could send our son a text on where to find us.

There is a huge array of things to do on Granville Island...searching for breweries, places to eat, shops and boutiques and haunts of artisans. Going for a stroll and people watching can be an exciting way to enjoy your visit.

I like markets and this one is great. The fresh food market is one of the largest and most complete which I have seen. Definitely worth a visit even if you have only a day or so.

This place gets crowded in the summertime but is still an incredibly popular place throughout the year. The inside market is vast and has an endless variety of fruits and vegetable stands along with specialized meat and fish venders. The food court has an incredible number of venders offering a diverse variety of food. This is situated on the waterfront... More

walked over to Granville Island from my hostel to explore. The public market was great and had many tasty food options, both already prepared and available for you to purchase and make yourself. There are also many unique shops selling everything from clothing to souvenirs to just about anything you could want!

Staying in Granville Island & Fairview

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Island & Fairview
One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere. A popular seafood destination, and Vancouver's leading spot for improv and amateur theatre, Granville Island is an indulgent, welcoming entertainment centre in any season or time of day.
