Whenever I visit Vancouver I always make a visit to English Bay, and never tire of it. The views are lovely, and even on the snowy/rainy days I was here, we were still able to catch a few rays sitting on the row of benches facing the water. A great place for a coffee (buy a takeout from Delaney's on... More

I highly recommend taking a walk along English bay. It's right by the water, the walkway is paved and the view is beautiful. There is always lots to see and if you enjoy people watching you will enjoy it. It's one of Vancity's favourite place all year round for locals and tourists alike.

Nice places to have a nice drink, beautiful beaches. Lovely for a nice walk. I went during winter but still lovely to stay indoor viewing the beach. We had a drink at Cactus bar

Great seawall walk and enjoy Vancouver's beautiful sunset. There are bike lanes too, and you can go around the Stanley Park or go towards science world. Both routes are very nice and easy! If you want more relax, take your blanket and enjoy the picnic. Just watch out for some birds droppings. In summer months, you can enjoy the beach... More

Always lots to do grab a coffee grab a snack have an expensive dinner, people watch, grab some rays, go for a 10 km walk along the seawall, count the freighters watch the boats go by, enjoy the scenery & views. Lots of park benches to sit and watch the world go by.

On a sunny day try Cactus English Bays patio, at night the Three Brits is a good place for a pint. For breakfast I would recommend the Red Umbrella. If you walk over to the Aqua Centre you can take a sea taxi to Kits or Granville Island.

Beautiful beach all around. Great for going in the water, catching some sun or even going there at night to watch the beautiful sunset over the ocean.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
