We went to English Bay on a spring afternoon and it was beautiful. The Laughing Man statues offer a great, unique photo opportunity. There are a lot of big logs on the beach which make great benches where you can sit and take in the scenery. There are great walking and biking paths around the beach. When we went in... More

海を眺めながらのんびりするのに最適なスポットです♫ It's a sunny day in Vancouver in a while, so I went to the English Bay Beach. I took a bus for 25minutes from downtown area. There are some "laughing statues". Here's a Good place to chilcing.

Beautiful beach to visit and amazing pubs and eats around English Bay. Cactus club does offer a concession stand right on the beach which is unreal. It always flooding with people when the weather is nice. Also a great place to watch the sunset

Great for walks, watching the sunrise/sunsets, collecting sea shells, playing with sand/rocks, scenery, etc. Had a picnic on the beach & watched the sunset...beautiful & peaceful! Loved the water....Right in the middle of the city!

We loved Sinset Park with its gorgeous views of English Bay. My kids never wanted to stop swing on The Engagement, and we built cairns at sunset. A must-see.

Beautiful beach with beautiful art around too. Love coming down all year round to watch the water. Perfect spot for the fireworks in the summer as well. Many shops and restaurants around as well.

Spent the afternoon walking along the foreshore and had a lovely time. Very picturesque and it was great to see so many others enjoying it.

Pretty views from here across the bay, but usually obstructed by the many container ships moored in the harbour. Dogs and logs galore. This is the "gay" part of town, so don't be surprised to see some same-sex hanky-panky going on. Some excellent restaurants along Denman Street from which you can observe Vancouverites doing their thing.

Thank Chris M

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
