Bring your camera but watch your back. BE aware of your surroundings and keep one eye out for the types of people around you. Great for photos and one of Vancouver's oldest building left standing.

We recently attended the Pacific Railway Station Vancouver to get our AMTRAK train from Vancouver to Seattle. The staff were efficient and ensured our entry onto the train through customs and the storage of our luggage was simple yet efficiently handled

This station is used by Amtrak and the Canadian transcontinental trains. There is also a bus station for intercity transportation. This is large station with plenty of seats, restaurants and clean restrooms. Trains arriving from the United States clear Canadian Customs here. Trains leaving for the United States passengers must clear United States Customs and Immigration. The station is one... More

This mid-size station serves the Amtrak Casades train between Canada and the United States, Via Rail and the Greyhound and Pacific Coach lines. We arrived here around noon on a weekday via the Cascades from Seattle and were impressed with the efficient handling of passengers by Canadian customs and immigration staff. The line moved quite quickly and we immediately entered... More

Our supposed ride home via Amtrak Cascades Train was not to be. The engine wouldn't start (generator issues). After sitting in the train for over an hour, shaking from no heat, w/out lights, the Engineer told us we had best de-bark & go back thru Customs because the agents "had to close" and we'd be stuck there overnight if we... Pacific Central Station (formerly the CN Railroad Depot) is where Amtrack trains arrive from South of the border, Via Rail trains arrive from the east and where Pacific Coach Lines depart and arrive from all directions. Like many rail stations, they reference travel style of the past; Pacific Central station, built in 1911, in Baux-Arts style still shows off exterior... More

Walking inside this historic building will take you back in time to the era of elegance. It is the starting point for all sorts of journeys including those on Via rail, Amtrak, Greyhound and Pacific Coach bus lines. I would have liked to post some pictures but was told by security that I couldn't take any inside the building.

Went on the Vancouver to Seattle train ride as I accidentally didn’t realize that my cruise started in Seattle not Vancouver. Was a brutal time to get up. 5am for a 6.30am departure!! I got there an hour early and that seemed ok, not sure how it would be in the height of the season. Trip was ok, it’s well... More

We caught the 6am train from Vancouver to Seattle, when we arrived there was already a line for the train but they were quick about getting people along. The station was nothing special, it was clean, well set out and it had an A & W if you couldn't wait till you were on the train to get some breakfast.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighbourhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
