As we usually do a hop-on, hop-off tour when first visiting a city we did the West Coast Sightseeing because the open top buses are good for photography. I’m trying to think of positives for this company but it’s difficult. The buses are old and seem in need of major maintenance, especially the transmission of our bus. A sharp jerk... More

We caught the bus from around the corner from our hotel. Had see through coverings and the bus was warm. 17 stops and regular buses. Was great to get an idea of where we were. Would recommend.

For the price - and with such a beautiful backdrop of a city to explore - one would expect a much better experience. These are decrepit old school buses with leaking plastic windows, wildly uncomfortable seats and loud and polluting. Most are not accessible either. The competitor Trolley tour is somewhat better and at least historic. Vancouver deserves better.

The buses were frequent, they had both half open and fully closed buses (was better when it got chilly). We first went to Granville market to fetch groceries: meats, fruits, veggies and baked goods and few premixed salads. Had a great tea and a coffee and sat on the dock out back facing the city. Took it back to our... More

Was looking forward to the tour .hotel provided brochures on timings for pickup only to be amazed that the pick up was 40 m later than he brochure said . Apparently the brochure we had was the Summer pick up times only a certain number of buses run during non summer times. Then why were the brochures distributed to hotels... More

Be aware there are two businesses that shuttle you around Vancouver. One has the trolley cars with 2 different routes (east side & west side of town) . This isn't it. We didn't know and after spending $90 for us to explore the city we disappointed. The bus driver never spoke a word or offered any insight of the tour.... More

Quite pricey but worth it if you can't walk too far. Although it only goes one way and there is only one every 45mins on winter timetable. Stops at all the tourist spots however on our trip the driver drive past the stop for chinese gardens and then only stopped when another customer asked is this the gardens stop. If... More

I thought it would be ideal in the rain but no. The buses can't cope, the rain is a torrent down the centre if the bus. The plastic Windows let in the rain. The seats are soaked. They rattle and you can't hear much. Some guides are better than others. The younger ones didn't care there was no where dry... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
