Great for window-shopping and people-watching. This downtown has 'ethnic diversity' in a wonderful symphony of experiences!

The views, food, the people and he whole vibe of the place is cool. It is a big city but it does not feel that way. It's a gateway to a myriad of outdoor activities as well (i.e. whistler) which are very close by. Loved...More

Busy, all walks of life & ethnicity. Never had a problem w/ credit card, super friendly city. Air train takes you anywhere, security incredibly helpful w/ us tourists. Very clean city, mindful of trash bin seperators: paper/plastic/glass/compost. So much to see! Upscale to simple stores,...More

We walked around downtown after our cruise and before our flight left. It is clean, safe, and has a lot of variety. Lots of public transportation too. Stay away from the fringes of downtown as it will get a little scary there.

After coming off a cruise ship after 7 days in Alaska dropping our bags at the hotel and waiting for our room we decided to walk around Vancouver. Around 8 hours later we got back to the room. Great parks, restaurants, bars and harbour. Enjoyed...More

Vancouver is an international destination for good reason. The city is diverse and the architecture is beautiful. The old and new meld with foresight of good planning. Green glass is the dominant unity of old and new. There are fabulous restaurants and fun shops. The...More

We stayed near Tellus Science Museum, and we found downtown to be simply stunning during the day, but shady at night. Twice we walked back from Canada Place and Robson street at night, and at times it was plain scary. We encountered crazy screaming people...More

Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is
bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their
lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's
plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and
corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau
restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping
options. However, located right on the waterfront of
Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also

I was there in September and I don't believe Vancouver has much snow. We were told many Canadians retire to that area because of the "warmer" winters. However, Whistler has snow almost all year round. It is about 90 min... More

Vancouver is a "walking" city with great public transit. Whistler is a great little town, but if you only have one day, I would skip it as it's quite a drive there & back. Instead, I would enjoy Stanley, Granville Island... More

I presume you are renting a car, since you have 8 days to tour around I would suggest that you see Vancouver first, google "Sites in Vancouver" and it shows an array of things and places to see. Stanley Park is a must... More
