Vancouver has been a second home to me. With many relatives living here and friends enjoying The Left Coast and all it has to offer, there is little bad things I can say about this city. Perhaps dirty at time but always alive and active and always welcoming.

Im a big fan of San Francisco and New York. This city falls somewhere in between that for me. Great food, cool neighborhoods, incredible views around every corner... what's not to love?

Beautiful city, Stanley Park a must, plus Flyover. Visit Vancouver Island especially Butchard Gardens. Good skiing in winter in the mountains.

Love downtown Vancouver! There's so much to see and do and all walkable! The parking is very expensive so try and avoid taking a car. Great restaurants and little bars, galleries etc...

Super views at night from top of tower and a very pleasant and interesting area. Lots to do ...we had too little time to do it but well worth a visit.

The city centre has one main street of 'good shops' and a small shopping centre and once you veer off you soon start to see lots of homeless people in doorways and on benches and notice the strange smell of 'weed'. The harbour area is very different to the city centre. My opinion for me, is that I would find... More

Lots of shops, not as many homeless people as I expected (could partly have been the snow weather), lots of places to choose to shop and eat

Nice waterfront route all the way around StanleyPark. It can get really busy so be alert. Eating areas easily accessible throughout

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
