A place to visit if you travel to Vancouver, B.C.

It is an iconic place, you can see it in some movies. You have to go there if you want to say you was in Vancouver.

Beautiful piece of architecture (it is a pity that since it was built the area has developed so the building itself is not as prominent as it was when it opened) - there is loads to do and often free activity such as for example this International Dance Day April 29th check out if there is free dance show (last... What's to say? It's a paved area, with a few benches (where you're not supposed to smoke, even though it's outdoors) No shade to speak of. It's close to a number of things like federal, and other, office buildings, theaters, sports stadium, and the library itself looks architecturally interesting. The rest of the surroundings are really just glass & concrete.

I ducked in to Library Square to avoid getting wet and found it a very nice spot with lots of coffee/food outlets as well as a newsagent and the library has a lovely gift shop connected to it.

This is a cool spot so I think this is well worth a stroll by. The architecture is interesting and unlike a lot of other parts in Vancouver.

Simply walking in Vancouver down Georgia St to the Library is a pleasure, and then seeing the building, with its unusual architecture is a pleasure. Walking into the Library past many shops in the outer curve of the building, yo see that it is packed with students, all studying. The staff is quick to help, and when I asked for... More

One Vancouver more unusual modern buildings should be on everyone's list to explore. The curved outside Coliseum walls wrap around a square centre block full of natural light. Be sure to go up the top floor to get a feeling of the interior design. Staff are very helpful and there are a ton of resources available.

My sweet family got toted along for this treat for me! The architecture was amazing! Loved the little gift shop as well that raises funds for the library! The volunteers in the gift shop were delightful ladies to chat with!

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
