I was on a walking tour which included a look inside this beautiful art deco building. The outside of the building was amazing and the lobby is just as fabulous. Since it is a working building we only stayed in the lobby area. I waited until the elevator doors opened so I could take a look inside. If you get... More

The Marine Building is close to Canada Square and stands out from the surrounding high rise blocks because of the exterior style, harking back to a golden era of architecture. Entering brings you face to face with the Art Deco atrium including splendid lift doors and stained glass. The building is now split into multiple office use, but you can... More

The Marine Building oozes 1930's yesteryear elegance and craftsmanship. It is gorgeous. The brass work, mill work, marble and ceramic tile are wonderful, imaginative and unusual with creative depictions of the areas natural resources, transportation, etc. You don't have to have business to do there - go into the lobby through the revolving doors and just admire this Vancouver gem.... A local showed me this building and the architectural details are beyond description. I'm going back to take pictures since I can't adequately explain how lovely this deco building is.

I often stop by when passing, as one can step inside to another age. It is amazing inside, a must see if you are at all interested in the arts or architecture. Do not miss if you are in Vancouver.

It's all in the details. From the grand exterior to the marble flooring to the stain glass window. The Marine building lives up to its name with marine life related facade featured in the interior. When inside, be sure to look up then visit the 2nd floor to really take in the grandeur of the art deco era. This building... More

Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries.
