Place was packed on Saturday night, but we were seated quickly. We had two burgers and beer, the best is definitely the steamworks burger! Had the yam and the regular fries, both equally delicious! Remember the fact that the pace was packed? That did not hold up our food, the burgers were made quickly

I just flew into Vancouver to meet my long lost best friend. We had been internet friends for year but never met in person until recently. We ate here for lunch and it was semi busy for a Friday afternoon. I ordered a pumpkin ale and a lamb burger. It contained Indian spice, raita, mayo, tomato, shredded cabbage, sesame brioche bun,... Our first night in Vancouver and I'd wanted to go to Steamworks after doing some research back in the UK. It was very busy but got a table for four quickly. Good range of beer not surprisingly, food was pretty good to. We went through two Pitchers of beer so it can't have been bad. We tried to get in... More

We dropped in for a beer and ended up staying quite awhile. It's a very cool establishment. Although we didn't eat, the food looked good. I really wished they had their fresh hop on tap.

Stopped here twice for lunch. A light upstairs bar leads down to the lower restaurant and kitchen.Service was very good. A good selection of draught beers were available along with bottled. Try the oatmeal stout! The menu is varied and reasonably priced for Vancouver. Right next to waterfront train station, the west end of gas town and the sea bus

Excellent beer and fast service at this brewing house. Had the chance to visit with a bigger group of customers. Great burger and beer for dinner. Very well located close to the convention center and Fairmount Waterfront where we stayed! Recommended.

The downstairs bar is neat -- the heart of the establishment where the food and beer are born. Their beautiful copper fermenting tanks are on display with signs above them showing what type of beer is in each one. There are also pool tables and lot of TVs for watching your favorite sport. Excellent beer to be had here, and... More

We were looking for dining on the water but also wanted to tour Gastown. It was a gorgeous night so we opted for the patio at SteamWorks. Friendly service, she brought us several beer tasters till we hit on the perfect one, and I got the Peach Fuzz, a bit weird and too sweet, so my husband drank it. Otherwise,... More

We were recently in Vancouver and part of our agenda was to hit a many craft brew brewery and taproom as possible. Steamworks Brewing was first on our list due to the close proximity to our condo and the girls could go shopping along Water Street while we talked all about ales. They feature a great selection of beers on... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
