Kayaking is the best way to see Victoria. We specialize in safe, fun and educational kayak tours of Victoria's Harbour and waterfront. Our floating location at Fisherman's Wharf is a 10 minute walk from the cruise ship terminal and 20 minutes from downtown on the scenic boardwalk. We are the closest kayak shop to the Juan de Fuca straight, so when conditions allow, we will paddle along the coast to the kelp forests and an island the harbour seals frequent. Along the way we may see different shore birds like eagles, osprey, oystercatchers, cormorants, and the great blue heron. Starfish, jelly fish and kelp crabs are usually hiding just below the surface. Kayaking is easy and we make it easier by offering paddling jackets, gloves and a bottle of water. Plus on our kayak launch you won't even get your feet wet!

Isabelle guided me on a two hour tour of Victoria's inner habour and Esquimalt's coastline, going as far as Harrison Island. We saw varied wildlife: eagles, harbour seals, oystercatchers, river otters, and kelp crab to name a few. I had a great time paddling around the all the sights and soaking in the views. Isabelle delighted as she offered fun... More

This was such an amazing experience that Kelp Reef offers. When i went out today we saw so many otters, seals, and my guide had so much cool information to share with me about the west coast and the Victoria Harbor. Worth every penny! :) highly recommneded if you want to see Victoria from a brand new perspective.

The owner of Kelp Reef Adventures was really knowledgable and helpful. My tour guide Thom Wilson, went above and beyond showing off the sights and attractions of Victoria harbour and surrounding areas. The guides knowledge of local marine life provided insight into the local ecosystems fauna and flora.

The service and hospitality is top notch. The kayaking trip that I took was stupendous. My daughter loved it. Brad was a totally wonderful kayak instructor and tour guide of the island. For those people who have never kayaked or done any water sport before this is your chance to do it with wonderful support and enjoyment from the Kelp... More

I cannot gush enough about how AWESOME this activity was. Kayaking with Brad on the 3 hour trip in the morning was absolutely the best thing we did in our trip in BC. From the very beginning it was obvious that Brad was knowledgeable about the area, marine life, and outdoor sporting. Our "tour group" was small and consisted of... More

The Kajaktour with Brad was a very great experience. We enjoyed our time together with him so much. He told us a lot of things and you get to know the Kajak, the Inner Habour and all the things you can see from there. You want to do a Kajaktour - go with Kelp Reef Adventures

What a great experience!! As it was early in the season it turned into a private trip. Brad had us feeling comfortable in the boat quickly and his calm professional nature left us feeling confident. He based our trip on the weather conditions and we got to explore islands and coastline from a fantastic view point. It was a great... More

Thank you for your 5 star review and recommendation! Our three hour morning tour is the best time to be on the water. We find typically the wind is the lightest and we have a good chance to paddle outside the harbour and along the shoreline to a group of islands nearby. Also the tide is likely low revealing sea... I joined this kayaking tour with my friends from 16:00 on 12th. We've never experienced kayaking, so we were really worried, but the guide Brandon taught us kindly, so we could really enjoy that! Thanks Brandon! I wanna join again!

My guided kayaking tour with Thom was excellent! He did a great job of helping the beginners of the group (including myself) and was patient when it took individuals time to catch on to the concepts. He was also knowledgeable about the area, the plants, and the wildlife we saw during the tour.

Thank you for your review Kate. Kayaking is easy, especially when you have an excellent guide like Thom to show you what you need to know. We begin with a safety briefing plus we take the time to show you on a chart where we are going and the route we will take to return. We have a busy harbour... More
