We travelled here by the hop on hop off bus and dropped us off right in front of the baby goats. Peacocks roam the park, which is kind of fun. Wonderful winding paths wrap through ponds and gardens.

I only partly explored it as it's quite big and I only had an afternoon, but it was really beautiful and well kept. Loved the gardens and the really large trees.

Everything individual component of this park is the best I've seen anywhere. Better water features than Merritt Lake Oakland. Birding is a delight here. Better petting zoo than, well, wherever there are petting zoos. Strategic location overlooking the Strait of San Juan de Fuca. Parking...More

Close to downtown. Picnic tables , playgrounds , botanical gardens , petting zoo and nearby the beacon hill ice cream shop. Off the downtown beaten path. A couple of blocks from the ocean.

We enjoyed the park and especially the petting zoo. Watching the baby goats play and bounce around was even fun for the oldsters.

Overnight parking is not permitted in the Park. There is a general provision in the Victoria By-Laws that also limits parking in parks to 3.5 hours during the day. I doubt if this is enforced in Beacon Hill though.

Yes , it is dog friendly provided that WOOF is on a lead. Certain areas such as the zoo area do not allow dogs inside that area. A large area , just across from Beacon Hill park ( along side waters edge) is a great area for... More
Does Mayor's Grove still exist in the park? I wrote about it in 1969, don't have the exact location. I recently moved here, just 10 minutes away so I guess I could search!

Well the trees are a little larger since 1969. Not sure if naming post is there. At the North end of the Park (Southgate) by the Ball & Soccer field's.
