This beautifully laid out garden was lovely even in the winter season, with color from carefully chosen foliage and berries--even a few blooms! Even the rain added texture to the ponds. Ask at the teahouse for the map/guide, and look for plant lists in the summerhouse. Elevenses, Afternoon tea, or light lunch available in the original residence. If you need... More

We visited Abkhazi gardens in November and there was still lots to see. Hard to belive that these gardens were all developed by just two people. We also ate at the tea room which was almoist empty at this time of year. There are better tea rooms in Victoria. Just go for the gardens and skip the tea.

The garden was amazing and the food excellent. This is a must do. Parking is limited but there was plenty of parking on the street.

We took an excursion from our cruise to visit this garden. It is on a 1 acre home lot in a residential area of Victoria - planned and planted after WWII by a Russian prince and his wife. The plants are beautiful, and the garden is nicely maintained. There is also a tea room in the main house where they... More

This is a lovely garden hidden away in a nice neighbourhood. It's very peaceful to walk through and is well looked after by the attendants. They love this garden and are very knowledgable about all the plants, trees and flowers. The history is very interesting and it is a true labour of love. The tea room looked welcoming but we... My wife and I had the pleasure of having high tea in the garden. Everybody knows about Butchart Gardens but Abkhazi is a hidden gem just outside Victoria. The views are gorgeous and although the garden is small, it is quite serene. We definitely enjoyed tea and walking through Abkhazi Garden!

The love story behind he garden is an initial great reason to visit but the overall garden is amazing. The layout, knowing how it developed is fascinating and there is a specialness that is hard to describe, and worth every minute. Don't miss High tea in the afternoon.
