An official Tundra Buggy® Adventure is the best and safest way to view the majestic polar bear in its natural environment and is an ideal tour option if you are planning your own travel and accommodations in Churchill. Tundra Buggy Day Tours include expert interpretation in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area about the wildlife and the magnificent ecosystems surrounding the subarctic environment of Churchill. You will have the opportunity to explore the open tundra while your driver discusses the effects of tides, currents and ice formation on the polar bear. Wildlife you spot may include polar bears, arctic hare, arctic and red fox, gyrfalcon, ptarmigan and much more. Please note that Tundra Buggy Day Tours take place on a 40-passenger Tundra Buggy® and during peak seasons have a tendency to sell to capacity. We highly recommend booking your Tundra Buggy Day Tour(s) as early as possible.

I have to say that if this is your only experience of viewing bears you will probably think it is brilliant but we had just finished a walking trip at Dymond Lodge with Churchill Wild. There was no comparison, you did not get as close...More

We had one of the most incredible experiences on the tundra with Marc as our guide! He was knowledge, friendly, and knew the best places to observe the bears! We saw over 20 bears-it was well worth the cost!

One day that will make you see the planet differently! We took our nine year old grandson, who learned a lot about nature first hand and not through an electronic device. Our buggy driver, Neil was so generous with his knowledge of the Bears and...More

We enjoyed our tour and saw about 5 bears, which was great. Driver was knowledgable and engaging. You get coffee, snack and lunch on board. Most of the 8 hour day is travel but the day goes fast. Quite expensive though.

Hi, I am planning on travelling from Winnipeg to Churchill by train in October 2017. I'd like to spend two nights in Churchill and take a day tour to see the polar bears. Is this realistic? My travel agent tells me that you can only do tours lasting a few days and you must fly in from Winnipeg. Thanks in advance, Kate

Hi Kate, We do not release our Tundra Buggy day tour dates until later in the year which can make scheduling around hotel availability, and train schedule a bit more difficult. Tour #63 on our website called Churchill Town... More

There are only two companies that do the actual tours: Tundra Buggy and Great White Bear. They have the vehicles/permits. Tundra has 12 and GWB 6, I believe. So I'd book directly with one of them. We went with Tundra Buggy... More
