For the incredible show of the Northern lights from October to March. We visited in late February and were blessed with four nights of incredible... More

We participated in an Earthwatch volunteer research project to study climate change at the Arctic's Edge and stayed at the Churchill Northern Studies Center for 11 days. The Center is fantastic- comfortable dorm-style rooms, an excellent cafeteria serving hot meals, well-equipped research labs and lecture rooms, and a remarkable dome room for viewing the Northern Lights! And wonderful staff!! We... More

This was an interesting stop in our visit to Churchill. Located 30 km from town, the center specializes in artic research. We did not stay there but we visited for lunch (call ahead) and toured this energy efficient building. The volunteers in the center were very nice. I would go back for one of their vacation packages.

We were very fortunate to spend 6 nights at the CNSC for a Northern Lights learning vacation last month. The far northern location of Churchill, with access only possible by plane or train, with frequent delays in travel due to inclement weather, ensures that visitors immediately appreciate that the weather is in control of any pre planned activities. We had... More

The Churchill Northern studies centre is a very educational place. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Northern lights are amazing and they have a really nice gift shop there. We'll worth a visit at anytime of year in Churchill.

We experienced the aurora dome, talked with scientists and students currently at the center, a tour given by the director and had many questions answered. They were welcoming and fascinating.

We stayed at the Study Center in early November while in Churchill on a Polar Bear tour organized by the University of Saskatchewan. We shared the center with a group of mostly Americans on a similar tour organized by the Center. The Center is well away for the town right in Polar Bear country. We saw several bears adjacent to...
