nice walk

It looks so much closer than it actually is, but the walk was exactly what I needed!. Along the way you'll run into the spot where Terry Fox dipped his foot into the Atlantic.

I have visited St. John's half a dozen times over the past four years and each visit I always head up to Signal Hill. You can't beat the view, but bring a hat! That wind will whip in one ear and out the other and leave your brain ice cold!

I previously visited in August and this time April. There is always a heavy wind. At this time of year, dress warm - hat, mitts, and good footwear for slippery surfaces. The visit is worth it. Take your time to read all of the informational signage - there is much to history to learn. It is VERY windy - hang... More

Love this small castle, wonderful view of the narrows and harbor, always windy so bring a coat! Beautiful time in the night, can see all of St John's and more! Don't forget to check out the Museum too!

Great place to see some very nice views but was absolutely freezing up there. I left after about only two minutes of viewing.

We took a tour and our guide was very knowledgeabler and interesting to listen to. This area would be lovely in the summer or the fall.

I live in St.John's, so I have been to this place many times in different seasons. It is a must-see for visitors. You can walk from downtown, drive or take a cab if you do not want to walk uphill or the weather is cold (it can be very windy in that area). If the weather is nice, you can... More

The temperatures were in single digits (Celsius) during our visit but the prospect is stunning! We took a cab to the tower but if it was just a wee bit warmer the walk would have been very pleasant from the bus base. The view and tower really give you a sense of history and the exposure to elements endured (enjoyed?)... More

A visit to signal hill is a great way to pass away a few hours to St Johns and it doesn't cost a cent. There are plenty of photo opportunities of the city and the ocean. There is also a walking trail if you are up to it ! And plenty of history here too!!
