A brisk walk from the hotel, through downtown, and up the hill (you can take a taxi) and the view is wonderful. They have done a fine job of laying out the history of Signal Hill, with lots of signs to help you understand what...More

We tried to go one day and it was entirely blanketed in fog. We couldn't even see the end of the parking lot. So we tried again the next day and it was lovely! We did every one of the hikes and they were well...More

Yes, there is historical significance that makes Signal Hill an interesting place to visit. But the views are amazing - watching the moon rise over the North Atlantic, watching the sunset on a windy evening, studying the St. John's harbor and watching boat traffic come...More

We enjoyed visiting Signal Hill although it was a very foggy day it was still fun to visit and we'll probably go back again on a much clearer a day. You can walk or drive.

We arrived and it was raining and you could barely see the tower, 5 minutes later we had fluffy clouds and you could see for miles!

Definitely a must do. Great views of city, harbor and ocean. Trail up from city on edge of harbor closed for trail repair but local assuredly that everyone just ignores barrier (we did). Can also walk up from street. Fairly steep walk on trails but...More

Beautiful lookout vantage point of St John’s with great historical and military relevance. Always windy so no mosquitoes plus the wind can blow all of your troubles away, at least for an hour!!! Great hiking trails as well.

As far as I'm concerned, Signal Hill is a must for the view. The Rooms was good, but exhausting to see it all and if you're not into museums, don't go if you only have 4 days. We took an O'Brien's Bay Bulls boat tour and... More
