I actually went around this last summer during a trip in August. The bike trail is quite good for about half of the distance - until you hit the legislative assembly (if you go around counter-clockwise, as I did). After that, it is pretty rugged,...More

The trail is more like a walk in the park, but you have to climb a rock here and there, so it's not wheelchair/ stroller accessible. The city views aren't so special from the trail (at least not in the fall season), so don't waste...More

A very scenic diverse trail that you can start and go part way and exit onto a road or go all the way around. Some sections are like a wide paved trail, to dirt track to scrambling along solid rock and muddy sections.

I have hit this trail several times to get out on nice days while in Yellowknife, easy to follow and really doesn't take that long. A gem in the downtown area.

You can get on the trail just off 49th and follow it around to the museum and legislature. See mining monument along the way. The trail is a bit muddy in sections, others sections have boardwalk. Look for the white and red poles that mark...More

This trail goes all around the Lake and is 5 km long. About 3 kms of it (next to the downtown) is all paved and is bicycle/wheelchair friendly and an easy walk. The other 2 kms (the most interesting part) is very wild, and rocky...More

This trail circles Frame lake. The South portion is fairly easy access with flat, well groomed trails. As you continue around the last half of the lake, the topography changes and it gets quite rocky and you need to be fairly agile to maneuver your...More

It is nice and peaceful to walk around Frame Lake following the trail. Frame Lake has a nice metal sculpture at its bank behind City Hall and it is one of the iconic pictures of Yellowknife.

Hello. Frame Lake if the trail is started from Stanton Hospital is a gentle decline to a straight flat walk along the trail to the Legislative Assembly. There are numerous places along the way stop and rest. There is a... More
